Headmade Materials: Advancing Metal 3D Printing with ColdMetalFusion

Headmade Materials pioneers ColdMetalFusion (CMF), an innovative sinter-based 3D printing process that blends laser sintering with powder metallurgy. This unique approach allows for robust "green parts," seamless integration into industrial workflows, and the creation of high-performance metal components.

How ColdMetalFusion Works & Its Benefits

CMF combines the best of both worlds: SLS technology and powder metallurgy. This results in greater design freedom, increased production output (up to 8x higher, 40x with laser advancements), and significantly reduced costs (up to 90% lower part costs). CMF green parts are stable enough for post-processing like machining, and the process supports full feedstock reusability. Final parts achieve 99.9% density with properties comparable to MIM.

Key Materials & Applications

ColdMetalFusion supports a wide array of industrial metals, including Stainless Steel (316L, 17/4PH), Tool Steel M2, Titanium (Ti6Al4V, TiAl4822), and Inconel 625. Custom material development is also available.

Applications span from mass-produced lightweight titanium consumer products to industrial machinery components, demonstrating rapid development cycles.

Services & Sustainability

Headmade Materials provides comprehensive services from part design and custom material development to prototyping and series production, alongside process consulting. The company is committed to sustainability, operating as a climate-neutral organization and supporting UN sustainability goals.
